Biography
Marilyn Rupar-Dubner, M.Ed.
Marilyn founded Confetti Theatricals in 2013 with the purpose of bringing enriching, participatory theatrical experiences to children. She has a BFA in theater from the University of Minnesota, Duluth and a Master of Education from Lesley College in Cambridge, Massachusetts. While working as a professional actress and singer for more than a decade, she began teaching drama classes to children and realized her passion for supporting children to discover greater creative expression through the art of theatre and acting.
She was encouraged by enthusiastic students to create theatrical birthday parties, and received requests from teachers to teach them some of her dynamic and do-able classroom techniques. Thus Confetti Theatricals was born.
Marilyn has been a child care professional for many years, working as the Drama Enrichment Specialist and Performing Arts Camp Director at the Child Educational Center in La Canada and has created performance projects for people with special needs for the City of Pasadena's Adaptive Recreation Department among others. In addition to her Confetti Theatricals Teacher Trainings she is an endorsed trainer for California School Age Consortium (CalSAC). She is certified in CPR and First Aid as well.
In addition to her passion for teaching theatre, Marilyn enjoys watching good movies, singing in her church choir, and spending time with her beloved husband, son, and dog.
